Judy Zelisko and Brunswick Corporation Celebrating 90 Years on the NYSE
MS Tax Program Board of Advisor's member, Judy Zelisko, and Brunswick Corporation Celebrate 90 years on the New York Stock Exchange
As the saying goes, leaders lead by example. For Judy Zelisko, the Vice President of Tax at Brunswick Corporation, her national leadership position in the industry is matched by the passion she continues to have for her work. As a long time member of the Illinois MS Tax program board of advisors, Zelisko heads up the Corporate Tax Department, which is responsible for all worldwide tax planning and U.S. tax compliance for the Company. Recently, Zelisko joined her fellow executives in having the honor of ringing the Closing Bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on November 9, 2015. Burnswick is one of the longest traded stocks on the NYSE and is celebrating its 90-year anniversary on the NYSE in 2015. “Joining my colleagues at the Closing Bell and celebrating our 90th anniversary on the NYSE was a special experience. Throughout my career, I’ve had many unique experiences and being at the NYSE was one of them,” said Zelisko. “Some of the other experiences have come in my work with the MS Tax program. Whether leading workshops, securing speakers for Lyceums and Commencement or providing insights to the Program, I truly enjoy my involvement.” Ms. Zelisko is very active in the tax community, both in the Chicago area, as well as on both a national and international basis. Some of the her accolades:- Elected the first woman president of the Chicago Chapter of the Tax Executives Institute (TEI) in 1994 and has served in a number of regional and national leadership positions.
- Served as the 2004-2005 International President for TEI, and currently serving on TEI’s Advisory Board to the President and the Continuing Education Task Force.
- Named to Tax Business Magazine’s inaugural “Tax Business 50” list of the 50 most influential people in the sphere of global taxation
- Long-standing member of MAPI Tax Council, serving as Chairperson in 2001-2002, is a founding member of the Chicago Tax Discussion Group, and currently serves on the Board of Advisors for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign MS Tax Program in Chicago and the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Tax Leadership Committee.
- Chairperson of the Brunswick Good Government Fund (Brunswick Corporation’s political action committee) since 1993 and currently serves as President of the Brunswick Private Foundation,
- Member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Visitors for Syracuse University College of Arts and Sciences
